At the foot of Mount Cistella, symbol of the Ossola Valley, in Foppiano Alp, since 1999 an activity of redevelopment of more than 80 rocks for bouldering has been going on. The project has been possible thanks to a group of young people fond of this sport discipline: Graziano Biancossi, Dario Rota, Luca Cendou, Gabriele Palazzo, Alberto Gibelli, Annalisa Bergo, Alice Camba.
Today, the ready for use redeveloped sectors are only a part of all the potential that the forest offers and that, in the coming years, will be developed and given to bouldering fans.
We highlight in particular the inauguration, on next Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th, of about 55 new rocks on the occasion of the gathering "Rendez-Vous". During the two days it will be possible to climb about fifty new routes of different difficulty. The first to be successful will be entitled to name the route.
For those who don't know this sport discipline and are curios to discover it, bouldering was born in the 70s, and consists in climbing on rocks of medium-large size up to a height of 7-8 meters without the use of ropes or harnesses. All that is used by the climbers are shoes and force (muscular and mental) to perform concatenate sequences of movements, usually extremely difficult.
