Verbania is among the 43 candidates for the Capital of Italian Culture Award 2021. These cities have until March 2nd to present their dossiers, which will be examined by a jury of seven experts and, by April 30th, a reduced list of finalist projects (maximum 10 projects) will be selected. The Italian Capital of Culture 2021 will then be chosen by the jury by 10 June. The winning city will receive a grant of one million euros for the realization of what has been presented in the programme.
Tommaso Sacchi, president and creator of the CROSS Award, will also be among the members of the Committee of Honour for the candidacy of Verbania.
The Councillor for Culture of Florence supports Verbania's candidature for this ambitious award. This choice is in addition to the support received in recent days from Michele Mirabella and many other personalities from the world of Italian culture, which will be unveiled by March 13, the date on which the dossier will be handed over to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage
