The Chamber of Commerce and the Verbano Cusio Ossola Province together with the Verbania Council, Borromeo Island Administration, Villa Taranto Institution Faita and Federalberghi, are developing an international tourist promotion project of the Territory.
The project aims to create the opportunity to support promotional projects agreed upon by the Province's areas of high international tourist dependence and the surrounding territories of lesser visibility, in order to extend the knowledge of what is on offer for the tourist and to renew interest in the diverse cultural, landscape and gastronomic resources in various locations.
The important flow of German tourists in the territory justified the idea of forming of a Representation Agency in Germany for the promotion of the Location "Lake Maggiore and its surrounding valleys" as well as the creation of a sales manual for tour operators together with the site www.derlagomaggiore.de which will support promotional-advertising campaigns.
One the many related activities was participation at the prestigious International Tourism Exhibition (ITB) with the presence of a dedicated stand, held in Berlin from 7th to 11th March. The press conference that presented the destination "Lake Maggiore and its valleys" was a great success in terms of public and tour operators present at the stand as well as important German journalists and specialised tourist magazinesThose present at the table included Chamber of Commerce President Giuseppe Moroni, Vice Mayor of Verbania Marino Barassi, Director of the Villa Taranto Institution Roberto Ferrari and Manager of the representation Agency "Maggioni Tourist Marketing", Roberto Maggioni. The stand also offered a taste of some excellent food and drink products from the territory.
