Every year in the last week of April and the first week of May the Ghemme Wine Show is held in the picturesque setting of the town’s castle.
The cellars of the town stay open for the duration of the show, so that visitors and residents can taste the local wines and sample the food specialities that Ghemme is famed for, and which give it the title of “Town of Wine and Honey”. The festival includes art exhibitions and other special events.
Ghemme’s most popular religious festival, in honour of the town’s patron saint the Blessed Panacea De’ Muzzi, is held on the first Friday in May. This centuries-old traditional celebration is nowadays accompanied by secular festivities connected with the Wine Show.
