The city of Varese every year hosts the Varese Gospel Festival.

The event is one of the most important of its kind and brings together the finest voices on the Italian gospel choir scene, such as the Greensleeves Gospel Choir of Varese (the cultural association which runs the event), the Diesis e Bemolli (“Sharps and Flats”) group from Milan, and the Damavoci Gospel Singers from Verona.

Participants also come from abroad, like the London Community Gospel Choir and the French Gospel Choir Blooming Kids, who took part in 2009.

The Festival takes place in the middle of July in the Estense gardens in Varese.
