The Fabbrica di Carta (“Paper Factory”) is the most important Book Fair in the Verbano Cusio Ossola province, presenting recently published books and those by local publishers.

The Book Fair has been held every April since 1998 in “La Fabbrica” (The Factory) theatre in Villadossola, and is run by “La Fabbrica” Cultural Association.

The event is designed to give visibility to local authors and publishers, and is aided in this aim by grassroots organisations such as libraries, schools, local heritage, culture and church associations, which have an interest in preserving the cultural heritage of the area.

The Fabbrica di Carta encourages literature focusing on this province with its stories and traditions, and which enables visitors to enter into contact with the cultural vitality that is a feature of our area.  Thousands of titles by local authors and others who have written about the places and people of the province are showcased every year.

Each year a theme is chosen as the focus for a variety of cultural events of all kinds. These include lectures, book presentations, art exhibitions, readings, and games involving books and reading for children.
