The palazzo, a former Borromean residence built in 1590 on the remains of a Roman fortress, is home to a superb collection of 18th and 19th century marionettes and a collection of 19th and twentieth century dolls.
The rooms contain paintings, sculptures and valuable 18th century furniture. There is an interesting reconstruction of a bedroom with period furniture and fabrics. You can see one of the three marionette theatres on the second floor.
Opening hours: 9-17.30 every day from March to October.
Admission: € 10
