On the water’s surface blow the Tramontana and the Inverna winds: the former blows in the morning from the mountains to the plains, while the latter blows in the afternoon from the plains to the mountains.

Every year, the shores of the Lake Maggiore host the Verbania Vela Festival with its regattas, concerts and food and wine events.
