About

Villa Cicogna Mozzoni in Bisuschio is an architectural complex designed and built during the renaissance. The earliest part of the building, constructed before 1440, served as a hunting lodge.

The second part, which connects to the first, was erected after 1530 and forms a delightful villa surrounded by gardens on various levels. In 1581 Angela, the last heir of the Mozzoni family, married Gian Pietro Cicogna, who agreed to combine both surnames in exchange for the dowry.

The new family continued to use the villa as a place of relaxation and entertainment, to provide hospitality to friends and relations, as a base for hunting and fishing, and to enjoy the delights of the wonderfully maintained gardens. The descendents of the Cicogna Mozzoni family still manage the house.

The gardens and 12 rooms, frescoed and decorated with furniture and ornaments from various eras were opened to the public in 1957. Today the villa provides a venue for concerts, exhibitions and cultural events, and its rooms can also be hired for wedding receptions, gala dinners, film sets and photo shoots.
