Varied and numerous are the culinary traditions that characterize Italy and Switzerland. Particularly, across the years, around Lake Maggiore, the lakes of Lugano, Orta, Mergozzo and Varese, many important Italian and Swiss chefs have opened their restaurants, which can be found in the famous culinary guides “Gamber Rosso” and “Michelin”.
In these restaurants it is possible to try a wide range of tastes: from rustic food as for example polenta and risotto, to meat and lake fishes but also more complex and refined recipes, result of creativity and continuous experimentation.
Could it have been the beauty of the reflections on the water, the majesty of the mountains and the elegance of the noble villas that inspired these great chefs?
Lake flavours, Cooking between Italy and Switzerland, the new book with texts by Maria Cristina Castelluci and pictures by Susy Mezzanotte, combines more than 50 recipes by 25 starred and emerging chefs with breath-taking landscapes of Maggiore, Orta, Mergozzo, Lugano and Varese Lakes.
A true sensorial voyage that we would like to suggest to all the food lovers.
The book, published by Sime Books, is now available on-line in English and Italian.
