The town of Cannobio has been awarded the "yellow flag", in recognition of its status as a bike-friendly town. Awarded by the Italian cycling association Fiab, it is based on a series of parameters and a deliberate choice to implement bike-friendly policies and initiatives designed to enhance the town for those travelling around by bike.
Cannobio boasts 12 km of cycle and pedestrian paths, which connect the county town to the hamlet of Traffiume and the main tourist attractions. This illuminated circular route with coloured paths and good signage is connected to the main network of hiking routes in the Cannobina Valley and the “Via di San Carlo” route that extends as far as the Vigezzo Valley.
The award will be presented to representatives of the town council at a meeting on 7th November 2017 during the Ecomondo trade fair in Rimini.
