A little more than two months away from the start of the Lago Maggiore Half Marathon, here are the very first novelties.
The medal of the 2021 edition is a tribute to our territory and in particular to the spectacular Borromean Island.
In fact, the prize represents the Indian peacock that has found a very comfortable habitat in the gardens of Isola Madre, in the shadow of the famous Kashmir cypress. Numerous symbols are associated with the peacock: rebirth, longevity, love, royalty, beauty and immortality, all auspicious, in accordance with the idea of the positive change that the ancient Romans attributed to it. A change that the whole world, even the running world, feels the need for and which the “Lago Maggiore” Half Marathon wants to become a part of.
The other big novelty is linked to the departure time, moved to 6pm. The setting of the Lake, this time colored with the shades of the sunset, will be even more picturesque than usual and will keep the runners company during one of the most beautiful races in Italy.
The route will be reversed, the start will be in Stresa (for the 21 km race) and in Fondotoce (for the 10km one). The arrival will be in Verbania and is designed to go down in history as the fastest race ever
