Lake Maggiore at Le Monde à Paris PRO

On 21 and 22 October the tourist destination “Lake Maggiore, its valleys, its flowers” will again be participating in Le Monde à Paris Pro, the prime international workshop and key event for group tourism professionals and groundhandlers, now in its second year.

The fair is organised as a workshop and is aimed solely at the professional sector. Last year around 3,750 professional operators and over 100 journalists took part in the event. Lake Maggiore was one of the few Italian destinations to participate in the first edition of the MAP Pro, and during the 2 days of the workshop contacts were made with around 30 operators. The 2010 edition is due to see the participation of 500 French and international exhibitors – tourist service providers, information offices, tour operators, hotels, castles, museums, theme parks, restaurants – who will be meeting around 4,500 professional operators – travel agents and accredited associations (41%), Coach Operators (38%) and Tour Operators (21%) from France and throughout the world. The Fair will be open to professionals only on 21 and 22 October from 10 am to 7 pm.

“Lake Maggiore, its valleys, its flowers” will have its own stand – Lac Majeur et ses montagnes – and will be aiming to promote the Lake Maggiore area, including the mountains of the Ossola, Lake Orta, Novara and its hills, the Varese area, and Locarno, on the French market. The French language version of the sales manual and other promotional material will be available at the stand.

Lake Maggiore is participating in MAP Pro under the “Lake Maggiore Nature, Environment and Culture” project, led by the Chamber of Commerce of the VCO Province together with the Lake Maggiore Tourist Board, the Verbano Cusio Ossola Province, the Chamber of Commerce of Novara, the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, ATL Novara, the Tourist Agency of the Province of Varese, Verbania Town Council, the Administration of the Borromean Islands, Confcommercio, the Botanic Gardens of Villa Taranto, the Hoteliers’ Association of Novara and VCO provinces, the Lago Maggiore Holidays Consortium, Lago Maggiore Conference, the Association of Small Traditional Hotels and Mountain Hospitality, the Fiori Tipici del Lago Maggiore Consortium, the Comunità Montane del Verbano, delle Valli dell’Ossola e Due Laghi, Cusio Mottarone and Val Strona.
